For the third time in four years, the Chargers are Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) bronze medalists after a 75-57 victory over the Langara Falcons.
Tied at the half, the Chargers came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Falcons 14-5, which carried over into the final stretch, only allowing Langara to pick up 10 points.
The Chargers dominated offensively off the boards picking up 10 second-chance points on 14 tries. Calvin Somers (Lambrick Park Secondary/Victoria, B.C.) went six for 10 from downtown for 18 points and was named Chargers Player of the Game. Jaime Palamos-Molins (Oak Bay High/Victoria, B.C.) contributed 13 points and picked up 10 rebounds on the night, while Noah Helman picked up 10 rebounds and 13 points.
This is the first championship medal for the Chargers men鈥檚 basketball team since 2020.
The Camosun Chargers Athletics Program currently fields teams in basketball and volleyball. Since joining the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) and PACWEST conferences in 1994, the Chargers have competed in over 100 national and provincial championships with over 50 medal winning finishes.
