Positive case reporting process & safe return to campus

Camosun notification process after testing positive for COVID-19:

  • Employees听who test positive for COVID-19 should email their听workplace leader and听OHS@camosun.ca听advising when and where they were last on campus, and when they tested positive.
  • Students听who test positive for COVID-19 should email their听instructor(s) advising when and where they were last on campus, and when they tested positive. Instructors are asked to pass the information on to their Chair who then informs听OHS@camosun.ca.

Determining your safe return date to campus after testing positive for COVID-19:

If you are听fully vaccinated, you must wait until after ending required self-isolation:

  • at least five (5) days have passed since your symptoms started;

Or

  • at least five (5) days have passed since your positive test date if you do not have symptoms;

And

  • Fever has resolved for 24 hours without medication and symptoms have improved.

If you are听not fully vaccinated, you must wait until after ending required self-isolation:

  • At least ten (10) days have passed since your symptoms started;

Or

  • At least ten (10) days have passed since your positive test date if you did not have symptoms;

And

  • Fever has resolved for 24 hours without medication and symptoms have improved.

The 246天天好彩听Communicable Disease Prevention Guidelines听have been updated along with an听appendix听detailing what to do if an employee tests positive for COVID-19, or another communicable disease, or if a student or employee discloses they have tested positive.

Support is available

Students听can book a video or phone appointment with the Camosun Counselling Centre at 250 370-3571 if feeling stressed or anxious as a result of positive test result.

Employees听have access to many resources to assist with maintaining their mental wellbeing, including the college鈥檚听Employee and Family Assistance Program听offered through听. With respect to听reimbursement听of professional services fees to visit a psychologist or clinical counsellor, coverage will vary dependent upon employment group and employment status. Please refer to your听听to determine what coverage is available to you.

  • Step 1 - Get a B.C. Personal Health Number (PHN); Call听1-833-838-2323听and one will be created for you.
  • Step 2 - Upload your out-of-province听proof of vaccination to the听
